Welcome to your new month, new year and new decade. It doesn’t
seem like it was a decade ago that we last visited with each other. Time really
can fly…
So here we are, already gearing up to CRWB 2020 Stonyford
Rodeo weekend. I have already heard from so many of you with your plans, your
purchases and that you’re planning to hitch up for this years gathering. Last
year, there were many outside events that happened over our CRWB weekend. We
dubbed 2019 as CRWB LIGHT. Graduations, illnesses, trips, babies, moving and
more. We had a great group and experienced a wonderful CRWB weekend together.
Well things are sure shaping up differently for this year. Most
that needed to miss last year are headed back for this year! Looking forward to
seeing the new additions, new rigs, new Rookies and all our old friends and
families. We are a crazy mix, setting differences aside, literally babies to
80’s, coming together for a weekend filled with camaraderie and fun.
I am so excited for the 2020 theme. I think some of you may be
too. Even Steve Watson, our shirt guru artist, is already working his creative
juices. We made a change in shirt color so it could be used as one of the
design colors allowing for more colors to be used. I can’t wait for you to see
what Steve does for us this year!

While garage sale treasure hunting I came across a Dory
costume. I could not resist being “Dory” for the parade. I think she is perfect
because I forget almost as much as she does on a daily basis. I feel a kinship…

Really excited to see what or who marches in the parade this year!

Horseshoes:
Well we had a “first” in our horseshoe tournament this year. We
got started a little late and some folks needed to hit the road. Well, that
left one of our playoff teams without their partner. Rules dictate that a new
partner could not step in. But, rather then forfeit due to the circumstances,
we allowed the player to play alone, but throwing for both sides. Tired, but a
trooper, we have our first, single Bronze Winner!Congratulations Christine
Hansen! Plus look at JJ’s son Caleb playing for the first time in the adult
play…and yep, that’s me and Matt. No surprise who else is in
first...Congratulations to all! *

This one was easy. No one has fought the good fight harder,

made himself visible, wearing parade costume, helping wherever needed, friendly
with all, bravely entered” Tequila Sheila” area, head down with tequila in
hand.
Bone Award - it’s
never easy to recognize loved ones for the Bone. This year went to my treasure
, Michael. Honestly thought he was way past these days. It’s not because we
lost our transmission on the Stonyford Lodoga grade while towing our fifth
wheel and blocking the route for several hours. But, it was because when Jimmy,
bless his angel heart, took Mike to Helga’s to pick our trailer and take it
into camp. Mike attempted to back into rig with tail gate still down and jacks
still on the ground. Dare I say a few beers may have happened prior to this
event.

I must mention Helga, who rescued us off the grade after our
transmission went out and we got stuck. She also put us up for several days,
offered her car to us, made contacts on our behalf and fed us.
Lastly, thank you Jimmy for arriving early to collect our RV from
Helga’s and towing us into camp. Without you we never would have made it there
If we neglected to mention and thank you, please know you are all
appreciated and so glad you are here.
Don’t forget to make your camping reservations. If you are “General
“ camping you can reserve right up to the day you leave. “Designated” camping
should be made ahead of time.
