Shirt Tales 2016
Howdy and Happy New Year CRWB!
Now don't be shocked that this newsletter is either really early or really late with updates! With the recent changes at the lake we decided it best to put the newsletter out now. This will allow those willing to make" reserved" campsite reservations a reminder to do so in January. If you are doing "general" reservations you may make them at any time up to Rodeo weekend.
Anyone making a reservation, reserved or general, should be aware there are no refunds even if the lake is closed. They offer credits for future dates only. At this time Mike and I will continue to reserve the same spot as last year. Thank you in advance for those able and willing to reserve a spot. This guarantees the spot for our group. More info below.
We are excited to have two "Future Mutton Busters" born in 2015.
Welcome Colton Dahl and Weslyn Figueroa!
Congratulations to Chris & Shauna and Will & Rosalyn and their new bundles of joy!
So let's dive right in to this year’s parade business!
- Theme: CRWB goes "Under the Sea!"
- Shirt Color: Blue (lighter)
- Dates: April 30th & May 1st This is the early year!
So start planning your costumes for a bubbly good time!
We are ready to start taking your orders for shirt and rodeo tickets, so be sure to follow the link above. You may also mail your order/check in as before.
We ran out of shirts last year so don't get caught without one! Orders are sent to an outside vender so late orders may not be filled. There may be a change in the "Children's Small" only size shirts. It is hard to fit Steve's design on this size, therefore the children's small shirts may have a slightly "cropped" design.
Be sure to make your reservations if taking a "reserved" spot. They should be opening this weekend. Reservations may be made on line at "countyofcolusa.com" under parks and recreations, at Squaw Creek using their new kiosk and by phone thru Colusa County.
The campsite numbers we want to secure are as follows:
L046, L047, L048, L50, L082, and L083 Mike and I will reserve L049 (the tip of cove). If you go to the map, they have improved them, look at map L3. You can see where each site is located on the Colusa County site. Everyone else can fill in-between. It is still 2 vehicles per site. They will be checking but for the most part we will be on the honor system. We prefer to not give any reason to lose their trust in us.
- MUTTONBUSTERS! You must enroll before the end of March. If you have a child 4-6 years of age who wants to ride in the rodeo please get them signed up! You will need to go on line to register at stonycreekhorsemen.org and will need to provide a birth certificate. These spaces go fast. Be sure to request Saturday!
We are always grateful for the help and support of so many of you. We say this every year but this weekend continues to work with all working to make it happen.
Chef Tony and Liz will not be cooking this year. They have another engagement and thought the dates were for the following weekend. BUT NEVER FEAR.....Squaw Creek is up and running with a full menu!!
Christine and family have really been getting involved more with camp. She handles the banners, kids games, night frisbee and whatever else she can. They brought up the trailer we pulled all the kids with in the parade. Outstanding support and Thank you!
Our web page designer and monitor and of course Poeville host Christa and family. We would be lost without you all. Thank you!
Still so happy Steve Watson continues to design our shirts! I asked him last year if he needed us to do something different. His response was "No, it's tradition!" Thank you!
Once again Jay and Harriet have placed and filled all our shirt orders! That's a huge job and very time intensive. Plus they cooked our Cinco de Mayo burritos last year. Thank you for continuing to support the CRWB!
The weekend would not be complete if our GAME MASTER was not there with his crazy games for us. Lance we know the effort it takes to put this all together for us.
It is extremely appreciated that you handle the adult games and shoe tournament. Thank you for all your time and hard work!Thank you Rosalyn for taking over the certificates! It was close this past year with you approaching your due date! They were wonderful!
We would not have music, beer, water and sodas on ice or music parade day without Jack! Thank you for doing this each year! It too is a lot of work to get this set up!
Roy is always ready with firewood and help. We love you Big Roy! Thank you!Shauna thank you for taking all the photos for us last year! They look great!
Helga you are our go to gal for Rodeo Tickets and connection with the rodeo. Not to mention opening up her home to those in need. Thank you for being there!
What would the parade be without our DI (drill instructor) Barb! The moves, the collaboration with JJ, Meeting Manager and prize coordinator. My right and left arm! You are awesome!
Thank you JJ for the awesome music mix for the parade! It was great!
Not to forget all that help to set up the shoe pits and fire pit. Plus those who bring shoes to be sure we have enough to play with. Mark, Blake, Brad, Don, Randy and I know many more! We appreciate you all!
And thank you all for donating prizes when we need them and selling raffle tickets when we ask without letting you say no!
We could not do this without all of you!
